Parent fail #2.

We bribe our son.

with graham crackers to sit in his car seat, with ketchup to eat his chicken, with remote controls to change his diaper. Yes. We bribe him to avoid major freak outs that we just don’t have time to deal with sometimes, especially because we are usually one on one with him. Graham crackers and snacks for a tear free car seat buckling? Sign me up!

  1. Hahaha, when I was expecting my first son, my mentor at work (a brilliant psychologist/special education expert) told me: “There are two keys to parenting – threats and bribes; use them the right way, and they become the keys to great parenting.”

I’d say you are on the right track mama, and you are definitely not alone. 🙂

  2. Yep, I agree with everyone else. You are definitely not alone!! Definitely just bribed my boy with marshmallows so that he would come inside today. A little sugar never hurt, right?? 🙂 By the way, I love the series– so fun!
